Pam Lacko the author of Laughing in the Face of Cancer will be at Milano Salon and Spa on the second Monday of every month.
Pam will give a complimentary copy of her book, signed, to anyone interested.
Pam was born and raised in Connecticut and currently lives in Simsbury with her husband Jeff, two children Rebecca and Mathew and their two golden retrievers. At the age of 47, she was diagnosed with Stage IIB Ovarian Cancer but managed to maintain her daily involvement in all aspects of life. She was recently diagnosed with a recurrence of the cancer and is currently undergoing treatment.
Pam is 53 years old, runs a successful computer consulting business, teaches percussion, and donates her spare time to helping other cancer patients in the area. She founded an annual “women only, bad golfing encouraged” golf tournament/fund-raiser benefiting the American Cancer Society and was recently given the Simsbury Hometown Hero award.
Soon after her diagnosis, Pam began to write a blog documenting her experiences with surgeries, treatments and the emotional affects of her diagnosis. After turning it into this book, she hopes that one day anyone going through a significant medical event such as cancer can read this and find something to smile about. Pam continues to document her journey using humor, through her new website, www.Laughinginthefaceofcancer.com.
